A wonderful short piece by Ernest Ka‘ai
Ernest Ka‘ai (1881-1962), considered as the first ukulele virtuoso, published in 1906 the first ukulele instruction book. I’ve taken this piece from the second edition (1910) of The Ukulele, a Hawaiian Guitar and How to Play It.
As the original ‘tablature’ is far from complete, some creativity has been needed for this arrangement. As far as I can tell, this mazurka (which does not appear in later editions of the method) has never been previously recorded.
Hope you like it.
You can buy the score, including tablature and fingering annotations, from Payhip.
