In his latest release composer Choan Gálvez channels Satie in a minimalist, impressionist, undertaking, full of beauty on first listen, simplistic pieces which evolve into pieces that could well be suited to the soundtrack of a mid-century French film. The title of the album Less Is Enough perfectly captures its content. The musical ideas put forward by Choan Gálvez are enough to be swept into a vortex of melancholy and wonder, weaving harmonies that linger with you long after the listening ends. Choan resorts to different tunings, as he wants to create a new sound world for every piece, always aiming straight to the point and creating consistently interesting atmospheres.
