Ukulele tunings

Apart from the usual re-entrant and low G ukulele tunings, I used a few scordaturas in my playing, both for composing and arranging. Here’s a list of most of what I use, linking to some of the pieces (and books) where I’ve used each particular tuning.

  • GBDA A linear ukulele tuning with scordatura resulting in a Gadd9 chord.
  • gCE♭A A C minor sixth tuning, perfect for melancholic minor arrangements.
  • Red Angel A linear tuning with scordatura resulting in a G minor chord, G B♭ D B♭.
  • fCEB♭ Re-entrant tuning, quite non-sensical except for the only arrangement I've used it in.
  • fCEG Re-entrant tuning akin to plectrum tuning, feasible with standard strings.
